FAQ

What are the teachers' qualifications?

Our lead teachers hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field and at least two years of experience working in a preschool setting. All classroom staff have a minimum of 12 ECE units.

All employees are CPR/First Aid and Pediatric and Adult certified annually.

Each year, we participate in 5 days of learning/training to ensure the best early childhood practices.

What does the application fee cover?
The application fee is to join our waitlist for enrollment consideration. The fee covers administrative costs of processing applications and, therefore, is not refundable, regardless of the admissions outcome. Families only apply once to the program per child.
What is the child to teacher ratio?

Our ratios meet or exceed the California licensing standards. We have extra staff on hand to support transitions and activities and to ensure our children have a quality experience.

How do you help families with the transition to kindergarten?

Our Director will help parents navigate the kindergarten admissions process, whether they are looking for private or public schools.

What is snack and lunch like at school?

We provide snacks served family-style to build skills around sharing, turn-taking, and conversations with friends. We harvest from our gardens and include children in snack time preparation whenever possible.

Children in our full-day option, bring a healthy lunch from home. Families have the option to order lunch from a school lunch catering program.

We're a nut-free school, meaning nuts or foods processed in a facility that processes tree nuts should not be included in children's lunches. Individual allergies are handled case-by-case depending on severity, and classes may or may not have classroom restrictions.

Does my child need to be toilet learned to attend?

Because children develop differently, and our youngest are just 18 months, we do not expect that children will enter school using the toilet independently. We will work with the family to develop the skills for this important milestone, with the goal that each child is toilet-learned around age 3.

What are your hours?

We are open from 8am-5pm, with core programming hours from 9am-2pm.
