Our Parent & Me classes are weekly, 75-minute sessions designed for parents and their little ones to grow, connect, and thrive together! Each session offers a welcoming space to celebrate the joys and tackle the challenges of early parenthood guided by an experienced Child Development Specialist.
Led by Joshua Castillo of Ask the Child Whisperer, she brings 20-plus years of working with children in various roles: Preschool Director, teacher, and now Parenting Coach and Early Childhood Consultant for schools. Her mission is to help families of typical and neurodiverse children navigate everyday challenges, big and small, with unique strategies for real-life situations. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the age span and number of parents in each class?
Each class has babies born within a 6-month space with a minimum of 5 parents (no more than 10 per class).
What do I need to bring to class?
Bring whatever you and your baby need to be comfortable. We sit on a carpeted floor, and babies lie down, sleep,crawl, or are held. We have toys, balls, and a play structure with a slide. Our parenting room has a diaper changing station and couch for nursing.
For hygienic purposes, we ask adults to remove their shoes and for children to finish their snacks before coming into class.
What is your wellness policy?
If you or your child are not feeling weel, we kindly request you stay home. In the case of a runny nose from teething or allergies, please consult your pediatrician to determine whether your baby is contagious.
All toys and fabrics are washed and disinfected each class.
Do you offer a trial class or make-up classes?
We do not offer a trial class. Classes are non-refundable unless instructor cancels and is unable to reschedule.
What should I do if I have to miss a class?
While it is not required, it is nice to let the class facilitator know when you will miss a class.
What is a typical class like?
Every class starts with a check-in to hear about updates, challenges, milestones and wins. We use small observation windows to see how children interact with materials, their parents, and the subtle ways they communicate with each other. These small moments help to fine-tune our understanding and connection as they grow. This class balances current topics, child development information, and the creation of family-specific strategies to help navigate growth moments.
You can ask, vent, and wonder about everything, kid, in this space!
What if my baby is napping and I’m late for class?
Not a problem! You may arrive at any time during the class.
